Authorities investigate death of Smyrna man

Authorities are investigating the death of a 49-year-old Smyrna man.

He was found deceased Friday at 2 p.m. at a home on 1 Mile Lane.

A neighbor told News 2 several police cars were in the area of Pleasant Run Road, blocking it off to passersby Friday.

According to the Rutherford Country Sheriff’s Office, any unattended death in Rutherford County is investigated as a homicide until proven otherwise.

No other details have been released at this time.
