City Construction Projects for October 22 through October 28

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project (Est Substantial Completion December 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. At all times, one lane will remain open in each direction.  Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work.  W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp.  On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase.  Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday:  Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr.  E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd.  The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic.  Appropriate traffic control will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – June 30, 2018:  As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements.  Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work.  N Maple St between W Lytle St and Olive St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Church St will be closed to through traffic until end of October 31, 2017.  Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion October 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 am: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be paving the eastbound left turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr.  Eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy will be reduced from two lanes to one lane.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.  Westbound traffic will not be affected.

Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd Signalization and Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion December 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be performing site work restoration and grading work on the westbound right turn lane at Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd.  Westbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd will be reduced from two lanes to one lane.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Northfield Blvd at Heritage Park Dr Median Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion October 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be modifying the median on Northfield Blvd at Heritage Park Dr.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Right Turn Lane Improvement Project at NW Broad St and Florence Rd (Est Substantial Completion October 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding a northbound right turn lane NW Broad St at Florence Rd.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on Butler Dr.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Butler Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project between S Church St and General Mills Way (Est Substantial Completion November 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be extending the westbound right turn lane on Butler Dr between S Church St and General Mills Way.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on Butler Dr.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Haynes Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project at Haynes Dr and Sulphur Springs Road (Est Substantial Completion November 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding a eastbound right turn lane on Haynes Dr at Sulphur Springs Rd.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Roadway Improvement Project (Haynes Dr between Thompson Ln and Wiltshire Dr)

Expected Lane Closures:  7:00 am Saturday, October 21 through 8:00 pm Sunday, October 22:  Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be milling Haynes Dr between Thompson Ln and Wiltshire Dr.  Haynes Dr will be closed to through traffic.  Traffic on Haynes Drive will be detoured onto Wiltshire Dr and Thompson Ln.  Local residents will have access at all times.  Appropriate detours and traffic controls will be in place.

Roadway Improvement Project (Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stover Glen)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be installing a 10 feet Multi-Use Trail along Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stovers Glen.  There will be minor traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City of Murfreesboro Fiber Optic Project (E Main St between Church St and Highland Ave)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be performing preliminary underground conduit work along E Main Street.  There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Murfreesboro Water Resources Rehabilitation Work

1) Greenland Ave between 1607 Greenland Dr and Gunerson Ave – 10/23
2) Bell St between N Highland Ave and N Maney Ave – 10/24
3) Rutherford Blvd at S Church St – 10/23 Night Time Work

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Wednesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM:  City paving contractor will be milling at the following street:

1) Middle Tennessee Blvd between New Salem Hwy and S Church St

Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions during the milling operation.
