Deadline to Collect Items for United Way’s Community Baby Shower Approaching Quickly

The deadline to collect baby items for the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties and the Rutherford County Health Department’s Community Baby Shower is approaching on Monday, January 29, 2018. The items will be sorted and baby bags will be assembled on February 2, 2018, at the Community Baby Shower Sort-a- Thon, presented by Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

This year, the United Way has a goal of 500 baby bags to be distributed to families in Rutherford and Cannon counties. Focusing on one of the United Way’s priority community issues, healthy beginnings, the bags contain essential baby supplies for a healthy start in life.

Items needed to complete the baby bags include: diapers, onesies, baby wipes, bottles, and blankets (new items only for newborn – 6 months old). Items may be dropped off at one of the many public collection sites across the community. For a complete list of collection sites, visit http://www.yourlocaluw.org/communitybabyshower.

Sponsors for this event include Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Elite Insurance Solutions – Chase Salas, FirstBank
Mortgage – Matthew Stump, Regions Bank, Hick Lo Farms, Quality Exteriors, Once Upon a Child, Lewis Bakeries and
