Early Morning Fire at 1313 Sunray Suspicious

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department’s Engines 1 and 3, Ladder 2, and Rescue 2 responded to a house fire at 1313 Sunray Drive just before 5:30 Friday morning.

Crews arrived to find smoke and flames showing at the back patio area of the unoccupied home. According to Battalion Chief Dale Maynard, the crews were able to gain quick control of the fire and had it out before it could reach the attic.

“It could have been much worse,” said Maynard. “We were able to contain damage to the outside of the home, mainly at the patio doors.”

Fire Marshal Carl Peas was called to the scene to investigate. The fire appears suspicious and is under investigation.
