JOSEPH R. PINO NAMED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER FOR SAINT THOMAS MIDTOWN AND SAINT THOMAS WEST HOSPITALS

Joseph R. Pino, FACHE, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital and Saint Thomas West Hospital.  He was Assistant COO and Cardiovascular Service Line Leader at Saint Thomas Midtown and Saint Thomas West hospitals before assuming this new position. Saint Thomas Health is part of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health system.

Before joining Saint Thomas Health in March 2016, Pino was COO and Interim Chief Executive Officer at Mercy Hospital in Miami, Fla.  He has held multiple executive-level positions in Florida hospitals throughout his career.

Pino received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida at Gainesville, Fla., and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Florida’s College of Public Health and Health Professions at Gainesville.  Pino is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
