La Vergne Special Census Results

The Special Census for the City of La Vergne has been completed.

Final results recorded the total number of residents is 34,423, a 6% increase over the last federal census in 2010. The new total resident count should bring in approximately $233,045 more in annual state shared revenue. The additional funds will help the city with paving streets, hiring new employees and other departmental projects or equipment that is needed.

Mayor Dennis Waldron said, “I would personally like to thank all of the city employees who put in many of hours of work over the last few months to get the Special Census completed. From going door-to-door, to logging information, and making phone calls, every person who volunteered to help really made a difference.”

The official numbers must be verified by GNRC before being submitted to the state.
The next Federal Census is in 2020.
