Murfreesboro Police Department Promotes 4 Sergeants and 2 Lieutenants

The Murfreesboro Police Department held a ceremony to promote four sergeants and two lieutenants Friday afternoon.

Lieutenant Allen Cox began his career at the MPD in 1994 and has served as a Motorcycle Officer and Sergeant, both in the Uniformed Division. Lieutenant Clayton Williams began his career at the MPD in 2004 and has served as a Motorcycle Officer and Traffic Sergeant.

Sergeant Hayley Alden began her career at the MPD in 2009 and has served on the Special Operations Unit and as a Field Training Officer. Sergeant Palmer Gibbs began his career at the MPD in 2008 and has served on the Special Operations Unit, COPS Unit, and as a Field Training Officer.

Sergeant Stephen McGowan began his career at the MPD in 2008 and has served on the
Special Operations Unit and as a Field Training Officer. Sergeant Joshua Meredith began his career at the MPD in 2008 and has served as a Field Training Officer.

“I proudly congratulate these officers on their promotion,” said Chief Karl Durr. “Their continued
service and leadership will play an important role in reducing crime and making a difference in the
lives of the people we serve.”
