Nashville Medical Group Signs Partnership Agreement with Saint Thomas Medical Partners

With its rich history as one of the long-established physicians’ groups in Middle Tennessee, Nashville Medical Group (NMG) signed a partnership agreement to become fully integrated with Saint Thomas Medical Partners (STMP). NMG includes more than 30 multi-specialty physicians in the group located throughout Middle Tennessee. Saint Thomas Health is a part of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health system.

“Nashville Medical Group has an incredible history as one of the anchors for primary care in the area, and we’re proud to integrate the group’s legacy into the foundation of Saint Thomas Medical Partners,” said Fahad Tahir, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Thomas Medical Partners. “Our partnership with Nashville Medical Group enhances the comprehensive network within our integrated system of care, and we look forward to our shared vision to expand with new physicians and sites of care in neighborhoods across the region,” said Tahir.

Nashville Medical Group was founded in 1932 as the Frist-Scoville Medical Group. The practice moved to Baptist Hospital in 1991 and was the anchor tenants in the 20th Avenue Building occupying the top three floors, which is now part of the Saint Thomas Midtown campus.

“NMG has been a partner of Saint Thomas Health for many years. As things evolve in health care, it only makes sense for us to form this closer relationship and be better together,” said Dr. John Williams, a primary care physician and president for Nashville Medical Group.

The partnership includes the physicians as part of the multiple community-based locations recently opened by Saint Thomas Health in Brentwood, New Salem in Murfreesboro, as well as additional new sites being built in Lenox Village, South Nashville and Mt. Juliet. Patients will continue to receive personalized, compassionate care with enhanced access close to home.

“We are so excited to celebrate this partnership and coordinate care for patients”, said Karen Springer, President & CEO of Saint Thomas Health. “It affirms our commitment to physician partnerships, being a physician led organization focused on quality and collaboration,” said Springer.
