City Construction Projects for September 24 through September 30

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project (Est Substantial Completion Dec, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. At all times, one lane will remain open in each direction.  Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work.  W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp.  On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase.  Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday:  Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr.  E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd.  The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic.  Appropriate traffic control will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – June 30, 2018:  As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements.  Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion Aug, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work.  N Maple St between W Lytle St and Olive St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Church St will be closed to through traffic until end of September 30, 2017.  Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Installation Project (Manson Pike between Brookwood Ln and Rexland Pl) (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Road Closures:  Saturday, September 23 & Sunday, September 24:  6:00 pm to 6:00 am:  Contractor for a private development will be installing sewer lines across Manson Pike.  Manson Pike will be closed on the west side of Brookwood Ln.  Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.  Traffic on Manson Pike will be detoured onto Brinkley Rd, Blaze Dr and Fortress Blvd.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 am: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be extending the eastbound left turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at GreshamPark Dr.  Eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy will be reduced from two lanes to one lane.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.  Westbound traffic will not be affected.

Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd Signalization and Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Dec, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding a westbound right turn lane on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd.  Westbound and eastbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd will be reduced from two lanes to one lane.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Haynes Dr at Memorial Blvd Roadway Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding an additional through lane on Haynes Dr (eastbound) at Memorial Blvd.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions during the milling process on Haynes Dr.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Northfield Blvd at Heritage Park Dr Median Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion Sept, 2017)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be modifying the median on Northfield Blvd at Heritage Park Dr.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Murfreesboro Water Resources Rehabilitation Work

1) Bradyville Pike between 1948 and 2006 Bradyville Pike – 9/25 & 9/26
2) Carolyn Ct between 2023 and 2031 Carolyn Ct – 9/26 & 9/27
3) Middleton Ln between 706 and 715 Middleton Ln – 9/28 & 9/29
4) Stoney Meadow Ct between 2002 and 2006 Stoney Meadow Ct – 9/28 & 9/29

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  The contractor for Murfreesboro Water Resources Department will be making sewer manhole repairs.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Murfreesboro Electric Department Gateway Switch House Installation (Robert Rose Dr between Ole South Way and Stones River Mall Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures:  Wednesday, 10:00 pm to 1:00 am:  Contractor for Murfreesboro Electric Department will be installing the Gateway Switch House onsite.  Robert Rose Drive between Old South Way and Stones River Mall Blvd will be closed for three hours.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Milling and Paving (Siegel Rd, American Ave, Timber Creek Dr & St Ives Dr)

Expected Road Closures:  Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  Contractor for the private developments will be milling and paving a small segment of the following roadways: Siegel Rd, American Ave, Timber Creek Dr and St Ives Dr.  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
