Greenway Arts Festival

Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Greenway Arts Festival at Old Fort Park along the Stones River Greenway on September 21, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This event is a gathering of the finest artists in Middle Tennessee. Talented artists will display and sell their work along the Greenway trail at Old Fort Park. Patrons can browse through booths of original artwork in a family friendly park setting. Oils, acrylics, watercolors, pottery, sculpture, and other original artwork will be available, as well as music, food vendors and kids’ art activities.

The cast of the Center for the Art’s production of “Aida” will perform selections from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. in the park. Musicians Larry Pinkerton and Rik Gracia will play along the trail throughout the afternoon.

Contact Melinda Tate at the Greenway office at 615-893-2141 or email mtate@murfreesborotn.gov for an application if you are an artist interested in participating. Applications must be received by September 1, 2013.

This is a juried festival and is sponsored by Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department, Friends of the Greenway and Tangerine Spa and Salon.
