RUTHERFORD Cable Welcomes Incoming Board for New Membership Year

RUTHERFORD Cable has officially welcomed a new leadership team for the 2017-2018 membership year.

Incoming president Carolyn Tumbleson aims to further the organization’s mission of being “the premier
leadership organization for women’s professional advancement in Middle Tennessee.”
“I want every woman who aspires to move forward in her career to know that RUTHERFORD Cable is a
supportive, inclusive community that encourages every woman to reach her full potential and celebrates
every woman’s achievements,” she said. “Cable has incredible partnerships with visionary companies and organizations that work together to create some of the most effective professional development programs available in this area. Some programs, like our structured mentoring program, are offered at no cost to members. Others, like the Center for Executive Leadership, are offered at a low cost to members and scholarships are available.”

Tumbleson, who is also Development Director for MTSU’s Jones College of Business, has served in a
number of roles with RUTHERFORD Cable before becoming president of the organization.
“I was invited by different members a few times, and when I finally attended a breakfast meeting, I found a group that could help me connect with others, serve the community, and develop leadership skills. After that, I never wanted to miss a breakfast meeting because of the opportunities for connection and the inspiring speakers,” Tumbleson explained. “Cable is an organization for women at all stages of their careers. If you are returning to the workforce, starting your first job out of college, or taking a risk as an entrepreneur, here you will connect with women that share the same experience. As president, I am surrounded by accomplished, knowledgeable women who know how to lead in business and communities. If I can learn from my mentors in Cable, I can better serve others in all areas of my life.”

RUTHERFORD Cable will host its next Breakfast Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 7:30-9 a.m. at
Stones River Country Club. Guests are invited to attend for a special rate of only $5, and registration can be completed online at www.rutherfordcable.org.
