Rutherford County Recovery Fest

Prevention Coalition for Success would like to announce the first annual Rutherford County Recovery Fest to be held on September 16, 2017 at Patterson Park Community Center from 11am-5pm. The cost is FREE and will coincide with “National Recovery Month”.

The Rutherford County Recovery Fest is an outreach event with the goal to reduce stigma surrounding adddiction and recovery by way of a community-driven event. September is “National Recovery Month” and this event helps reduce barriers for those in the community pursuing resources and seeking help. The event also seeks to reduce the stigma by increasing conversation about recovery. There will be many community resources and various speakers.

“The Rutherford Recovery Fest is a day for the community to receive answers and resources regarding treatment and recovery. This event is about reducing the stigma of treatment and recovery through awareness and education. The Prevention Coalition for Success has focused on prevention for years but we understand the importance of prevention and treatment working together, full circle to combat substance abuse and addiction. Recovery is prevention so the more knowledge individuals in our community have of their options; the more likely they are to make better decisions regarding this issue.” says Jermonde Bey, Prevention Coalition for Success Director.
