Special Kids 18th Annual Golf Classic Presented by Nissan North America

Local nonprofit Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center will hold its 18th Annual Special Kids Golf Classic on Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5, at Indian Hills Golf Course in Murfreesboro.

The 2017 Golf Classic is proud to be presented by Nissan North America for the seventh consecutive year. Employees from Nissan will join other participants in a four-person scramble to compete for prizes from Indian Hills and other local businesses. Players will also receive a free lunch and the option to play in the Thursday or Friday afternoon tournaments.

Shawn Williams, 2017 golf classic committee chair and Nissan North America plant manager, shares, “Nearly 10-years ago my oldest daughter was receiving therapy services from Special Kids. I fell in love with their mission and saw the real impact they were making in the lives of children and their families. Special Kids is a gift from Jesus. It is written, “Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.’” Luke 8:50. I believe that Jesus works through Special Kids to continue to deliver on this promise today.”

Registration is $600 per team of four or $150 per individual. For a $250 sponsorship, organizations will have their company name listed on a tee sign at one of the 18-holes. Higher-level sponsorships are also available with some including a team in the tournament. Williams also wants those considering playing to know, “My favorite part of the golf classic is the kids. So many charity events are for great causes but at this event, when the kids come out and ride around the course on the golf cart, it changes you. I hope you’ll join us.”
