‘TN History for Kids’ featured in June ‘Murfreesboro Storytellers’

They say that those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. In the June 2017 episode of “Murfreesboro Storytellers,” the show highlights “TN History for Kids,” a program aimed at educating students about our state’s history.

The June 2017 episode of “Murfreesboro Storytellers” is available for viewing on YouTube at https://youtu.be/36asv9J6gls.

This month’s episode takes place at Cannonsburgh Village, located at 312 S Front St., Murfreesboro, TN, 37129. Historic Cannonsburgh Village represents approximately 100 years of early Tennessee life from the 1830s to the 1930s.

The June episode of “Murfreesboro Storytellers” features:
• Special guest, Bill Carey, executive director of TN History for Kids talks about his nonprofit organization, how it started, and how it continues.
• Carey also talks about his education, experience writing for the “Tennessee” magazine, and his knowledge of Tennessee history.

The TN History for Kids website can be found at www.tnhistoryforkids.org. At their website, you can find informational booklets, a three-part section about civics, geographical information lessons and more.

“Storytellers” can also be seen on CityTV Sunday, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Monday, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.   You can watch “Storytellers” on CityTV (located on Comcast Xfinity Channel 3 and AT&T Uverse channel 99), on Roku, or simply view the program online by visiting www.murfreesborotn.gov/storytellers.
