TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Motorists Urged to Avoid Haynes Dr.

The City of Murfreesboro is closing a half-mile section of Haynes Drive (Thompson Lane to Wiltshire Dr.) to thru traffic this weekend for removal and repaving of a deteriorated “failing section” of street surface.  The closure will be in place to thru traffic from 7 a.m.Saturday, Sept. 30 to 8 p.m.Sunday, October 1.

 

The repaving project is scheduled to close Haynes Dr. to thru traffic for the next four weekends-only in the month of October, beginning this weekend.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place during daylight hours as construction crews make repairs.

 

Motorists are urged to avoid Haynes Dr. and seek alternative routes.  Eastbound traffic will be rerouted on Thompson Lane to Wilshire Dr. and to Haynes Dr.  Westbound traffic will be rerouted from Haynes Drive to Wiltshire Dr. and to Thompson Lane as shown on the detour map.

 

The project will remove 2400 feet of existing pavement and replace it with heavy-duty asphalt.  Hoover Paving Inc. is contracted to complete the repaving project.

 

Residences on Haynes Drive will be able to access the neighborhood during the closure. Motorist are urged to use caution in the construction zone, reduce speed and avoid texting in navigating to their destination.
