Ford of Murfreesboro Officer of the Month
Convincing a suicidal man to not take his life earned a Sheriff’s Deputy honors as Officer of the Month for May from Ford of Murfreesboro.
Patrol Deputy Jason Brown received an engraved watch from Assistant General Manager Art Hill of Ford of Murfreesboro.
General Manager Andy Obeissy of Ford of Murfreesboro said they appreciate Deputy Brown’s actions.
“Ford of Murfreesboro knows how important these officers are to the health and safety of our community,” Obeissy said.
Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh said Brown responded to the call where he found the man attempting to take his life April 25 off State Route 96 (Franklin Highway). The deputy stepped in and after a period of time convinced the man to stop his actions to lose his life. The man was treated at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
“Due to Deputy Brown’s lack of hesitation and through his quick actions, he was able to save the man’s life,” Sheriff Fitzhugh said. “Saving a life is one of the noblest actions a law enforcement officer can take. We commend Deputy Brown for his commitment to rescue this man.”
