8th Annual Turkey Tee Off – A Tradition of Generosity

“We were blessed with a warm, sunny day and a great group of golfers on Saturday for the 8th annual Turkey Tee Off,” said Child Advocacy Center Executive Director Sharon De Boer.

The tradition of generosity continued at this year’s tournament held on November 3rd with the support of the following sponsors: A & L RV Sales, Anonymous Donor, CRF Properties, Ingram Content Group, Murfreesboro Young Professionals, Save-A-Lot, US Community Credit Union, Waffle House, Waldron Fann and Parsley Attorneys at Law, and Wilson Bank and Trust.

Golfers were treated to a waffles, bacon, sausage, coffee, and orange juice provided by Waffle House before teeing off at 9 a.m. After the round, the teams feasted on Slick Pig BBQ while tournament committee member Chase Patterson announced the prize winners.

The Patterson team of Marshall Lorance, Jason Mansfield, Chase Patterson, and Jay Sanders took home first place of $200 with a score of 55.

The second place team with a prize of $160 was Birdie Buddies. The golfers on the second place team were Howard Fuller, Ben Ramirez, Jeff Rigsby, and Bob Woodard with a score of 57.

The third place team with a prize of $100 was the Brooks Golfers. The golfers on the third place team were Mark Brooks, John Paul Geier, Jordan Holmes, and John Morrissey with a score of 58.

The Patterson and the Brooks Golfers Teams generously donated their winnings to the Child Advocacy Center to support services for child abuse victims.

The following people won a frozen turkey from Save-a-Lot for the following contests:

  • Molly Hissons won the “Longest Drive” on Hole 5.
  • Kay Stockton won the “Closest to the Pin” on Hole 3.
  • Chad Sheppard won the “Closet to the Pin” on Hole 14.
  • Sam Slifka won the putting contest.

“During this Thanksgiving season, the Child Advocacy Center is grateful for all of the Turkey Tee Off sponsors, in-kind sponsors, tee box sign sponsors, and golfers,” said De Boer. “Many of our loyal golfers have been golfing in this tournament every year for the last eight years.”
