Tennessee STEAM Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary, Announces 2026 Dates

The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring will host the 10th Annual Tennessee STEAM Festival October 9–25, 2026, marking a decade of the statewide celebration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. As part of the festival, the Discovery Center will anchor two flagship events: STEAM-a-Palooza and the Lantern Parade.

Since its 2016 founding, the Tennessee STEAM Festival has grown into one of the largest STEAM festivals in the nation, connecting hundreds of schools, libraries, museums, businesses, universities, and community organizations through hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity and inspire lifelong learning. This year's milestone anniversary brings an expanded lineup of events celebrating a decade of innovation, creativity, and exploration.

To mark the milestone, the Discovery Center will soon announce the 2026 Festival's Honorary Chair — a globally recognized explorer, scientist, and advocate whose extraordinary journey began right here in Tennessee.

“As we celebrate 10 years of bringing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics opportunities to communities across Tennessee, we are thrilled to welcome an Honorary Chair whose life and career perfectly embody everything this Festival stands for,” said Tara MacDougall, President and CEO of Discovery Center.

Full details on the Honorary Chair, including public appearances and special anniversary programming, will be announced soon.
