MTSU celebrates nearly 700 new alumni at summer commencement ceremony
Thousands of family members, friends and supporters joined the Middle Tennessee State University campus in celebrating 694 new Blue Raider alumni during its summer commencement ceremony held TODAY (Saturday, Aug. 8) inside Murphy Center.
Graduates were met with celebratory remarks from MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee and a keynote address from Political and Global Affairs professor Michael Federici, outgoing president of the university's Faculty Senate.
With the summer 2026 commencement ceremony, MTSU has awarded 194,535 degrees to its students, including associate, bachelor’s, master’s, educational specialist and doctoral degrees, since its founding in 1911.
The university’s 2026-27 academic year begins Aug. 24, with the first official day of fall 2026 classes
