African Drum and Dance Day at Patterson Park
Nananom African Heritage, Inc. will be bringing “African Drum and Dance Day” to Patterson Park Community Center Saturday, September 29, 2018. From 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., participants of all ages are encouraged to participate in this free event.
Artists will be teaching drumming and dancing from several African countries, including Nigeria, Guinea, Senegal, Ghana, Togo and Congo. A community drum circle finale is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Nananom African Heritage, Inc., is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization that serves to promote authentic African Dance through arts, education, and recreation by demonstrating the rich cultural heritage of Africa and people of African descent.
“The African Drum and Dance Day is designed to be interactive as we want you to have fun while dancing your way to health,” said Ephraim Ketsri, president of Nananom African Heritage, Inc. “Bring your drums and dancing shoes because we are going to drum and dance the day away.”
