Amelia’s Closet Top 200 Finalist in State Farm Neighborhood Assist
The two thousand grant applicants accepted through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® website were submitted within forty-five minutes nationwide. Applications came in from all fifty states and Amelia’s Closet was one of only four Tennessee organizations selected as a Top 200 Finalist.
A $25,000 grant from State Farm® will be awarded to each of the forty organizations receiving the most votes. Voting runs August 18 at 12:00am ET through August 27 at 11:59pm ET. During the ten voting days, individuals are encouraged to vote every day and to select the “10 votes” box, totaling up to the maximum 100 votes per person. Winners will be announced on September 29 at www.neighborhoodassist.com.
Since 2015, Amelia’s Closet has helped remove employment barriers for economically and socially disadvantaged individuals and at-risk and marginalized populations, with the goal of ending poverty cycles and other results of hopelessness.

This grant will allow Amelia’s Closet to create adaptive job training materials for its social enterprise and job training program, Liberty’s Station. Liberty’s Station will be a progressive workforce pipeline where 90% of the paid interns have intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities; or other employment obstacles.
