Angela Shofner recognized by Tennessee Association of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists
Angela Shofner will receive the Public School Incentive Award later this week at the 2021 Tennessee Association of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists conference.
Shofner is a district-level assistive technology facilitator.
As part of the augmentative and alternative communication program, Shofner assists and supports students with communication needs. She also facilitates speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, special education teachers and assistants, and general education teachers along with providing multitude of trainings.
Shofner has presented a wide range of best practice trainings at surrounding districts.
“We are so proud of Angela for this accomplishment and so blessed that she is a part of our Rutherford County Special Education Department,” said Paula Laaser, lead speech language pathologist for the district.
Shofner will be recognized Friday during an award luncheon in Franklin.
In an email informing her of the award, Shofner was thanked for her hard work and dedication to the field.
