Armed with a loaded AR-15 and refusing to come out
On January 24, 2018 at approximately 3:45 PM Murfreesboro Police responded to the 100 block of Arnold Lane near Rutherford Blvd in reference to a domestic situation.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect’s father who informed them his son, Andrew Tennyson, 29, was making threats inside the home with a loaded AR-15 rifle and refusing to come out.
Members of the Special Operation Unit were dispatched to the scene and set up a perimeter around the residence.
While officers were monitoring the situation, Tennyson stepped out the back door to smoke a cigarette, and that’s when officers were able to take him into custody successfully.
His weapon and drug paraphernalia were collected at the scene.
While being booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, a small bag of marijuana was discovered inside a pack of cigarettes in his possession.
Tennyson was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault, Simple Possession of Schedule VI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
