Ascension Saint Thomas Launches First On-Site/Near-Site Employer Clinics

Mayor Bill Ketron, Chamber of Commerce President Paul Latture, Ascension Medical Group President Yvette Doran, and Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford President and CEO Gordon Ferguson were among the Rutherford County leaders who spoke at yesterday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newest Rutherford County MedPoint Health Center at 2723 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro.

Through a new partnership, Rutherford County’s three MedPoint Health Centers will now be managed and operated by Ascension Medical Group, a part of Ascension Saint Thomas. These clinics will provide medical services at no cost to any county employee enrolled in the Rutherford County Health Plan. Ascension Medical Group has over 100 primary care providers and more than 24 primary care clinics across Middle Tennessee. This is the first time Ascension Medical Group has partnered directly with an employer to provide on-site/near-site clinics.

In his remarks, Mayor Ketron reflected on “the decades of service that Ascension Saint Thomas has provided here in our community” and shared that “county employees are excited for the opportunity to receive the excellent medical care that they deserve.” Chamber President Paul Latture credited robust local healthcare offerings for making Rutherford County an increasingly attractive location for prospective employees, saying: “This is another example of healthcare meeting the needs of our growing workforce.”
