Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation Hosted 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

Ascension Saint Thomas leadership and Murfreesboro community members were in attendance at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation’s annual golf tournament held on May 16, 2022, at the Stones River Country Club.

The tournament began with breakfast and an opening ceremony featuring Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford postpartum nurse Kara Forge, alongside her husband, Heath, and their son, Jackson, a NICU graduate. Jackson was born prematurely by an emergency c-section and was transferred to the NICU. Kara and Heath thanked the nurses, who were incredible at taking care of their son during an overwhelming time. They also shined light on the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation’s purchase of Nicview Cameras, which allowed them to see their baby when they wanted to, creating a stress free experience.

“Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation raised $40,838 from this event,” said Virginia DeJean, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation Director. “We are so thankful for everyone who came to support this incredible cause. All proceeds will benefit the Dr. Jim Boerner Nursery- Pediatric Fund, allowing us to continue supporting families like the Forges. We look forward to seeing our community out next year.”
