Attempted Homicide Investigation Update
On January 24, 2018 at approximately 6:00 PM Murfreesboro Police responded to calls of shots fired in the 900 block of Greenland Drive. Officers found one shooting victim with life threatening injuries at 907 Greenland Drive.
The victim at 907 Greenland Drive had been shot multiple times in the parking area of 902 Greenland Drive and ran across the street to 907 Greenland Drive seeking aid. He was treated on scene by members of Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services. He is identified as Cory Brewer (date of birth 07-07-1995) of Murfreesboro. He remains at Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Investigators arrested Emmett “Trey” Lyons III from an apartment at 902 Greenland Drive (date of birth 10-17-1996). He is charged with attempted 1st degree murder and is incarcerated at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department with a $250,000 bond.
