Benjamin Doyle obituary

Benjamin E. Doyle, age 89 of Murfreesboro, died Friday at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro surrounded by his family. He was a native of Fayette County, Tennessee and a son of the late Ross and Loney Ector Miller Doyle. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Nelda Doyle; a daughter, Patricia Hudson; and brothers, Eugene and Billy Doyle and a sister, Frances Jackson.

Survivors include daughters, Melanie Carter and husband Mark of Rockvale and Janet Godwin and husband James of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Amy Simpson and husband Chris of Shelbyville, Benjamin Bennett and wife Petra of San Diego, CA, and Ashton Marlin and husband Chad of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Parker, Peyton, Madelyn, Knox, Tobin and Isabelle; and a son in law, Johnny Hudson of Murfreesboro.

Mr. Doyle was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church and served 22 years in the United States Air Force. He later retired from the United States Postal Service after 22 years of service. He enjoyed many hours as a ham radio operator with the call sign K4SVC.

Visitation will be Monday night from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Reverend Carl R. Wenck officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
