BFI Remains Focused on Community Vision, Not Division
BFI Waste Systems of Tennessee, LLC., released today the following statement focused on community vision, not division.
“One week ago, BFI made the voluntarily decision to drop its appeal for northern expansion of Middle Point based on the long-term vision communicated by county leadership and residents. It is unfortunate that our choice to do so is now being manipulated into a false narrative that seeks to divide rather than foster collaboration. We feel the need to convey to the public that the City of Murfreesboro voluntarily chose to intervene in our appeal and continues to waste taxpayer resources on litigation they chose to file. We would like nothing more than for these issues to be resolved. We are a business in this community. We support more than 200 jobs in the area, and we provide free disposal to all city and county residents. We serve them and we will continue to serve them so long as we are in operation. We remain committed to working with Rutherford County leadership on a long-term solid waste solution that serves both city and county residents.”
