Blackman students need votes after winning $50,000 Samsung award

School could garner addition $10,000; voting ends April 23

Zach Martin, STEM teacher at Blackman Middle, along with his students, are now national finalists in Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow contest.

As finalists they will receive a $50,000 prize package of Samsung technology and resources, as well as an opportunity to pitch their idea in front of a panel of judges.

Students at Blackman have developed Aqua-Shield, a waterproof barrier for a house that can be deployed during a flood.

Martin and his students are now eligible not only for the grand prize, but also an additional $10,000 technology package for the Community Choice Award.

Community choice voting goes until April 23rd and you can vote once per day!
