‘THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS WELCOMES RACHEL JONES AS THE NEW DIRECTOR FOR RAGTIME!’

The Center for the Arts is please to announce that Rachel Jones will be taking the helm of their production of Ragtime! The story of Ragtime centers around an upper- class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant, and a daring young Harlem musician, who are united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow. The musical is set in turn-of-the-century New York, will leave you hopeful and inspired 

Rachel Jones fresh off her successful run of Sister Act the Musical, is thrilled and exhilarated to be directing such an amazing show.  

Auditions are Sunday, May 7th and Monday, May 8th. Auditions will start at6:30pm on both days. 

Please prepare a one minute song. You may sing from the show or a song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music in your key. An Accompanist will be provided. We are seeking a multi-ethnic/multi-racial cast including all ages, about 30 adults/older teens, and 3 featured children, with 3-6 additional children may be cast for the ensemble ages 8-14. The entire ensemble sings.  

Generally minimal dance requirements, although preferable for Evelyn Nesbit and some African-American ensemble members to be dancers. For more information and a character break down please seewww.boroarts.org/upcoming-auditions
