City Construction Projects for November 26 through December 2
Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project (Est Substantial Completion December 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. At all times, one lane will remain open in each direction. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp. On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in-place.
Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.
Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – June 30, 2018: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Front St for construction work. W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Church St will be closed to through traffic until end of November 30, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. N Church St between W Lytle St and W College St will be closed. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd Signalization and Turn Lane Improvement Project (Est Substantial Completion December 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be installing final pavement markings at Medical Center Pkwy and Gateway Blvd. Westbound traffic on Medical Center Pkwy at Gateway Blvd will be reduced from two lanes to one lane. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Butler Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project between S Church St and General Mills Way (Est Substantial Completion December 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be extending the westbound right turn lane on Butler Dr between S Church St and General Mills Way. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on Butler Dr. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Haynes Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project at Haynes Dr and Sulphur Springs Road (Est Substantial Completion December 2017)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be adding a eastbound right turn lane on Haynes Dr at Sulphur Springs Rd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
TDOT’s Turning Lane Improvement Project on Old Fort Pkwy at the I-24 Westbound Exit Ramp (Exit 78-B) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm: There will be a lane and shoulder closure on Old Fort Pkwy eastbound between I-24 and N Thompson Lane as well as on the I-24 westbound exit ramp (78-B) for grading and signal operations in the median. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place
City of Murfreesboro Fiber Optic Project (E Main St and Highland Ave)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be installing underground fiber optic lines at E Main St and Highland Ave. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
John R Rice Blvd Roadway Improvement Project (just north of Old Fort Pkwy)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be adding an additional lane on John R Rice Blvd. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions intermittently. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual City Street Paving Project
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM: City contractor will be milling, raising castings and paving the following streets:
1. Middle Tennessee Blvd between New Salem Hwy and S Church St
2. Haynes Dr at Sulphur Springs Rd
3. Shearon Ct, Anita Ct, Messick Ct, Fox Point Ct, Satinwood Dr, RiverView Dr, Royal Dr, Rutledge Way, Old Salem and Capt. Joe Fulghum Dr
4. Greenland Dr between Reeves Rodgers School and Brown Dr – Sidewalk installation work
