City Construction Projects for June 25 through July 1

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.  Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work.  W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp.  On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday:  Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr.  E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd.  The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic.  Starting June 12 through July 3, Middle Tennessee Blvd between Bell St and E Main will be closed.  Northbound traffic will be detoured onto E Main St and Rutherford, and southbound traffic will be detoured onto Greenland Dr and Highland Ave.  Appropriate traffic control signs and message boards will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – July 30, 2017:  As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements.  Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St.  Monday through Friday, N Church St will be closed just south of Burton St.  Traffic on N Church St will be detoured on Burton St, Spring St and Lytle St.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Maple St for construction work.  N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Walnut St will be closed to through traffic until end of July, 2017.  Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Maple St Alley Improvement Project (between W Main St and W Vine St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The Maple St Alley will be closed to through traffic between W Main St and W Vine St for construction work.  Deliveries to local businesses will be from Walnut St, W Vine St and Public Square.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Roadway Improvement Project (Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stover Glen)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be making roadway improvements on Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stovers Glen.  Appropriate detours and traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Roadway Improvements and Signalization Project (Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  Contractor for TDOT will be making roadway and signalization improvements on Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd.  There will be minor lane traffic shifts and traffic interruptions on Manchester Pike.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday, 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM:  City contractor will be adjusting castings on the following street:

1) Middle Tennessee Blvd between S Church St and New Salem Hwy
2) Fox Point Ct
.
There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
