Murfreesboro City Schools Hosts Annual African American Cultural Celebration
African American exhibits, cuisine, and much more will be featured Thursday, February 29, as Murfreesboro City Schools and Patterson Park Community Center celebrate The African American Cultural Celebration. The event will be held at Patterson Park Community Center located at 521 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 5-7 p.m.
“We invite the community join us as we celebrate diversity through art, cuisine, history, and music,” states Dr. Jeremy Lewis, Bradley Academy Principal. “Bradley Academy and Scales students have been working hard to be ready for this event.”
The theme for 2024 is Unity Unveiled: A Tribute to the African American Heritage. The celebration will include performances beginning at 6 p.m. from the Bradley Academy Choir, the Scales World Drumming Ensemble and Steel de Boro. Bradley Academy students will participate in a live wax museum honoring local and national heroes.
Free Food tastings reflecting the cultural cuisine will be provided in the dining hall at Patterson Park.
