| Christian music group Big Daddy Weave performed a benefit concert at New Vision Baptist Church on Friday, December 1, to raise over $60,000 for children with special needs at Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center in Murfreesboro.
Over 1,300 attendees participated in the event organized by the local nonprofit. The night began with a pre-show question and answer segment with Big Daddy Weave. Concert-goers then experienced an incredible night of worship and enjoyed Big Daddy Weave performing their biggest hits including, “My Story,” “Overwhelmed” and “Redeemed.” A meet and greet was also held post-show.
“We are so thankful for everyone who came out and helped support this concert benefit event,” shares Stephanie Folkmann, Special Kids’ Director of Development. “We are excited about the growing number of people who are interested in helping us serve families and children with special needs.”
Thanks to generous sponsors, all proceeds from the benefit concert went directly to the children served at Special Kids. Ole South Properties was the benefit concert’s presenting sponsor. Supporting sponsors were HCA TriStar Health, Sims Recycling Solutions and New Vision Baptist Church. Underwriting sponsors were Ben Phillips with Northwestern Mutual, Blake Finney with Shelter Insurance, Little Guys Movers and Lamar Advertising. Contributing sponsors were Cooke Realty Partners, Smoothie King and Wax Family Printing.
The benefit concert also marked the end of the nonprofit’s annual Double Challenge fundraiser which raised nearly $130,000.
When investors contributed to Special Kids during the Double Challenge, their donation was doubled up to a total of $31,000 thanks to generous anonymous investors.
“We have been so humbled to see how God has worked through our investors to continue the exponential growth and support by our investors. The Double Challenge serves as an opportunity for our investors to work together each year to do more for the kids,” states Noel Deal, Special Kids Lead Investor Relations Specialist. “The money raised through the campaign will help provide life-changing therapy and nursing services to families who would not otherwise be able to afford them.”
