Congratulations to new Rutherford County Sheriff Sergeants

Congratulations to new Sgt. Moody.

Deputy Michael Moody was promoted to sergeant by Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh Tuesday.

Moody will serve as sergeant in the Civil Warrants Division.

He joined the Sheriff’s Office 23 years ago as a detention deputy. He was promoted as a patrol deputy and later served as patrol corporal. He joined the Civil Warrants Division 10 years ago.

Congratulations to new Sgt. Carter.

Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh promoted Deputy Nick Carter to sergeant Tuesday.

Carter will serve as sergeant in the Court Security Division.

He became a detention deputy 19 years ago. He was promoted as a patrol deputy three years later. He transferred as a Court Security deputy in 2017. He became a field training officer in 2020.
