Construction Milestone for Tennessee’s First Neighborhood Hospital

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford is hosting a “topping out” ceremony tomorrow to celebrate as the final steel beam is raised to the top of Tennessee’s first neighborhood hospital. Located on Veterans Parkway off Interstate 840 in Murfreesboro’s Westlawn community, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Westlawn Hospital is expected to open in early 2023.

This highly anticipated satellite of the main hospital campus will improve access to care for members of Murfreesboro’s Westlawn and Blackman communities. Residents of some rural parts of Rutherford County will also benefit from care closer to home.

The 32,000-square foot micro hospital will have eight private inpatient medical beds and an emergency department with eight treatment rooms. Additionally, the facility will offer diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, and outpatient services.
