The Discovery Center announced plans to host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration on Monday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Visitors will celebrate Dr. King’s legacy and story through arts, culture, and much more. The museum will welcome Harlem Globetrotters star Scooter Christensen who will lead a Unity March with kids and families.
Other special activities during the event (various times, subject to change) are:
- Create-your-own origami peace doves
- Celebrating Equality & Diversity skin tones collaborative mural
- Voting rights booth
- “I Have a Dream” art project
- Silhouette portraits with artist Mary Watkins
- Unity march sign creation and outdoor march (weather permitting)
- Civil rights storytime
- “Our Friend, Martin” film screenings
- African music and display by Nananom African Heritage
