Discovery Center offers free entry to ‘frontline heroes’

Right now, frontline workers are the superheroes for their care and dedication in this chaotic time. To show our gratitude, the Discovery Center invites “those who serve,” plus up to three (3) guests, to a playdate with us between now and the end of July.

More information is available at www.explorethedc.org/heroes.

The Frontline Heroes Discount offers free entry for first responders, healthcare workers, and essential employees who have had to work in difficult conditions through the pandemic. Space is very limited, and timed reservations are required for entry. Each purchase is limited to a total of four (4) admission tickets. We kindly ask you to bring an ID or credential showing you are employed in one of the above-mentioned fields.

The Great Outdoors exhibit
The newest permanent exhibit at Discovery Center invites visitors to enjoy and learn about Tennessee’s great outdoors! The Great Outdoors exhibit mirrors Tennessee’s state parks, which are teeming with wildlife, towering trees, bountiful plant life, lakes, wetlands and waterfalls. Step into a jon boat, experience the one-of-a-kind Firefly Wall, learn how to tie knots, get up close and personal with turtles native to Tennessee, and so much more! The Great Outdoors exhibit is accessible, bilingual and loaded with fun!

More information is available at www.explorethedc.org/greatoutdoors.

Discovery Center is now open Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no timed admission slots or advance ticket purchase required for general admission.

Museum capacity is still limited to 75 visitors at a time on a first-come, first-served basis. Staff will be cleaning the museum at designated times throughout the day, without closing. So now visitors can stay as long as they would like.

Discovery Center is continuing special entry requirements for visitors, including screenings, face coverings (inside only) and social distancing. Additional details are available at www.explorethedc.org/reopening.
