Discovery Center to Host After-Hours Fundraising Event
The Discovery Center will host A Night at the Museum: Featuring Wine, Whiskey & Ale on Saturday, March 7th, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The 21+ fundraising event combines elements of the Discovery Center’s Wine & Whiskey and Shakesbeer events, with proceeds supporting the organization’s educational programs and operations.
The event offers after-hours access to the museum, along with wine and spirits donated by Stones River Total Beverage and tastings from local brewers. Guests will be able to explore the museum’s exhibits while taking part in scheduled activities throughout the evening, including a scavenger hunt, silent disco, and interactive experiences. Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks.
“This event supports our educational work, but it also gives adults the chance to experience the Discovery Center in a different way,” said Tara MacDougall, President and CEO of the Discovery Center. “The same exhibits that spark curiosity and learning for children are enjoyable for all ages, and this evening allows the community to see firsthand why play-based learning matters in early childhood.”
Lindsey Jennings, Vice President of Philanthropy, said the event helps connect supporters more closely with the organization’s impact. “A Night at the Museum brings together sponsors, partners, and guests in the very space their support helps sustain,” Jennings said. “It’s an opportunity for adults to engage with the museum, understand its role in the community, and help ensure these learning experiences remain available to children across Middle Tennessee and beyond.”
A Night at the Museum will take place at the Discovery Center, located at 502 SE Broad Street in Murfreesboro. Tickets may be purchased online in advance for $50 or at the door for $60.
