Early Morning Fire on Huntwood Drive Displaces Five

An early morning house fire in the 4400 block of Huntwood Drive Thursday has left four adults and one child displaced.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family who was fortunately not home when the blaze began.

Rutherford County Fire & Rescue (RCFR) responded around 5:15 a.m., and according to Captain Larry Sloan, the first arriving units discovered heavy fire throughout the structure.

Crews from RCFR, Almaville, Lascassas, and Kittrell worked together to extinguish the fire, but Sloan says the home is likely a total loss.

The cause is unknown at this time and will be under investigation. Crews remain on scene to ensure there are no extensions and all hot spots are out.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
