Eligible Veterans can receive COVID-19 vaccine at TVHS walk-in clinic

The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is hosting a walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic for Veterans aged 45 and older Saturday, March 6 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at its Nashville and Murfreesboro campuses.

To receive the vaccine, Veterans must be enrolled in TVHS health care.

“I want to encourage all middle Tennessee Veterans to get enrolled in our health care system,” said Jennifer Vedral-Baron, TVHS health system director. “Once you’re enrolled, you can do your part and get vaccinated. The health and wellbeing of our community is a necessity.”

Per CDC regulations, Veterans must not have received other shots in the last 14 days. Veterans who had COVID-19 should wait 90 days before getting the first dose.

At the Murfreesboro campus, Veterans can follow the green arrows to the vaccination location inside the gymnasium. The Nashville campus is administering vaccines in the multipurpose room located on the first floor by the chapel. Directional signage will guide patients to the walk-in clinic.

Before entering the building, eligibility and enrollment will be confirmed and Veterans will be asked for photo identification. Masks are also required, and visitors are not allowed inside. Due to high demand, there may be a wait.

Veterans will need to return 28 days later to receive their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. For more information on TVHS vaccine updates, visit https://www.tennesseevalley.va.gov/services/covid-19-vaccines.asp.
