Elizabeth Gilbert obituary

Margaret Elizabeth “Liz” Gilbert age 71 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, formerly of Keystone Heights, Florida passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Creekside at Three Rivers in Murfreesboro. She was born in Barrow-in-Furness, England and later moved to Rugby and then on to Coventry to finish her education. At age eighteen she moved with her family to the United States.

She worked as a short hand typist for engineers in downtown Chicago and met her husband, James Edward “Jim” Gilbert who had also immigrated to America, and they were married in June of 1973. After Jim’s retirement, they moved to Keystone Heights to serve the elderly at the Park of the Palms Retirement Center. Following her husband’s passing, Liz moved to Tennessee in 2012.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, James Boyers Murray and Elizabeth Florence May Murray and her husband, James Edward Gilbert.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Gilbert Clark and husband Herman Talmage Clark; grandsons, Jude Gilbert Clark and Talmage James Clark; sisters, Francis Mary Rosario and husband Peter, Maureen Jane Gora and husband Robert, Patricia Ann Murray, and a brother, David James Boyers Murray and wife Pamela, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:30 Tuesday, November 19, 2018 at the Keystone Heights Cemetery in Keystone Heights, Florida under the direction of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home.
