Engineering Division adds Michele Emerson as Project Engineer
Michele Emerson has joined the City of Murfreesboro Engineering Division as a Project Engineer.
Emerson has 26 years of engineering experience, including 13 years with St. John Engineering, LLC, an engineering, planning and environmental firm in Manchester, Tennessee, as well as 6 years with Federal Express and 7 years with Allen & Hoshall Inc., in Memphis, Tennessee.
In her role as project engineer for the growing City of Murfreesboro, Emerson’s primary responsibilities will include managing Capital Improvement Projects for roadways and drainage, engineering support for City departments, and review of subdivision and site plans.
Emerson’s work as a licensed engineer professional for St. John Engineering from December 2003 to February 2017 included:
- Residential and commercial subdivision development.
- Transportation and roadway design.
- Wastewater and water system design.
Prior to serving as a civil engineer for St. John Engineering, Emerson worked for FedEx in Memphis from 1998-2004, where she conducted sorting and time studies; ETI from 1995-1997, where she participated in engineering support for construction of the Grand Casino in Tunica, Mississippi; and Allen & Hoshall Inc. in Memphis from 1987-1994, where she designed taxiways for Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point.
Emerson is a 1992 graduate of the University of Memphis with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. She is married with two children, Bryce, 18, and daughter, Casey, 16.
