Boro Fondo Bazaaro III: The Fallening
Weirdos and Fondonians, the time is quickly coming upon us for Boro Fondo 2018 preparations — that means that it is Boro Fondo Fundraiser time!
This is the third Bazaaro, and the first one held in the fall. We are going to bump this up to twice a year so the Fondo planning committee comes into planning with a little bit of $$$ for the cause. Here is how it works:
This is a mixed media, mixed art form bazaar. We are going to be renting booth space to artists, antiquers, flea market peddlers, performing artists, crafts or whatever else you can think of.
Booths can include:
Paintings
Line Art
Vinyl
Novelties
Live Record Cutting
Flea Market
Rod & Reel Repair
Jewelry
Henna Art
Recycled Art
Wire Wraps
Live Screen-printing
Antiques,
and much, much more.
There will be live music and performance art all day long from:
Half Watt Aströnaut
Apathy Wizards
Fischer’s Kitchen
Madeline Marie & Peace Patrol
Who can participate? ANYONE! Feel free to apply to have a booth to display or peddle your wares, crafts and/or art.
What can be displayed/sold? Mostly anything! Feel free to get weird with it. However, keep in mind that this is a family event and there may be children present. Not to say that things like light nudity, depictions of violence, etc are off limits, just be sure not to take it over the top. The Boro Fondo Comittee NEVER wants to censor anyone’s art, but we also do not want to blantantly offend the other attendees.
What’s in it for me? We are going to be promoting this event heavily. So, you are pretty much guaranteed sales.
Will there be refreshments? Probably. More info as it becomes available.
What’s this gonna cost me and how do I apply? The event is free to the public who want to attend! If you want to rent a booth, the rental fee is $30, or 15% of your total profit for the day if you feel like being extra generous. We would like to have all booth ideas submitted by Halloween. If you would like to rent a booth, email your contact information as well as links and descriptions of your work/wares to borofondo@gmail.com. Or just show up the day up with a table, your wares and $30.
How do I donate to Boro Fondo? If you have any items that you would like to donate, there will be a Boro Fondo Bazaar Booth that will acting as the Fondo’s Fundraiser home base. There will also be a silent auction. If you want to donate to the silent auction, or just to Boro Fondo, just approach a staff member at that booth.
How do I pay for my booth? Payment can be made in a couple of ways:
1. You can pay in cash on the day of the event.
2. Send $30 to http://www.paypal.me/JackBrunson with the note “BAZAAR BOOTH RENTAL”
Remember that ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of all money made on this event is going to Boro Fondo 2017, so if you want to have a good time while also supporting your community, come out to the bazaar and get bizarre.
