Highland Tap Takeover

March 27, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Back in 1994, the first kegs of Highland Brewing Company rolled into an alley from a basement, making them the first legal brewery since Prohibition. That was back when the brewing system was made out of retrofitted dairy equipment. They were producing 6,500 bbls of beer in a 12,000 square foot space. Since then they have become the largest native North Caroline brewery while producing 60,000 bbls of beer. On top of that the are the 3rd largest craft brewing solar array in the US. None of this matter if you can’t make great, constant beer. Highland has done it. Their core beers are balanced and easy drinking while their limited-edition brews are complex and unique. They have recently did a brand change after 24 years but their beers will always be top notch. Our event is meant to “reintroduce” you to the brewery that you love. Even though the logo has change, their standard for great beer hasn’t. We are featuring four different brews this event. The Rep will be there to answer any and all questions along with bring pint glasses, koozies, and stickers with their new logo. Here is a little description of the beers that we will have on tap:

-Daycation Session IPA is a hoppy floral session IPA. This beer celebrates the mosaic stone fruit and herbal notes while the bright citrus comes from the dry-hopping of 2 different hops. This leads to a balanced malt profile that will lead you to wanting one more. With just 4.9 ABV you can be drinking this all day!
-AVL IPA is a west coast style IPA that uses 3 different hops from the Pacific Northeast. With a sturdy malt bill that highlights the hints of tropical fruit, lemon rind, grapefruit, and dank hops.
– Gaelic Ale is a core beer that we have featured several times. The balanced malty sweetness with delicate hop bitternesss adds to a rich ale that is mild enough to go with a wide range of food pairings.
-Russia Imperial Stout is dark and complex. The addition of vanilla, toasted coconut, and coffee need to a velvet smooth complex stout that is aggressively roasty. There is a fun behind the scenes fact. A team of brewers, a sales pro, our Supply Chain manager, and Ops VP toasted 400lbs of raw coconut flakes in borrowed ovens on a Sunday night to bring you this beloved beer.

Come and enjoy these delicious beers while you hang out with like-minded individuals.
