Junie B. Jones The Musical Auditions are coming! Start getting prepared now with our audition prep tips below!
If you haven’t auditioned with us before come to Orientation at 6pm before auditions!
Junie B. Jones Audition Prep
We ask all children nine and up to have an acapella song prepared with at least 16-32 bars in the style of the show (see examples below).
Ex: When I Grow Up, Matilda
Naughty, Matilda
Hard Knock Life, Annie
Never Had a Friend, Aladdin
Popular, Wicked
I Won’t Grow Up, Peter Pan
We will be doing cold group readings of our kids 9 and up. Children 6-8 will answer questions.
Ex: What school do you attend?
What is your favorite color?
We will also do a choreographed dance piece so please dress comfortably with shoes you can move in.
Please be prepared for a long night. Auditions may go until 9pm if there is a large turnout.
6-8 year olds may sing happy birthday or something similar.
Junie B. Jones Auditions
It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.
