Topic: Music and the Human Brain

Presenter: Dr. Mark Wallace, Director of the Vanderbilt Brain Institute

Dr. Wallace will speak about the relationship between music and the human brain. He will highlight some of the ongoing research at Vanderbilt’s Brain Institute including the results from putting a musician and performer into an MRI while listening to music. In addition to analyzing the musician’s brain, Dr. Wallace’s other research interests include multisensory processing, development and plasticity, and developmental disabilities.

Co-sponsored by the Nashville Section of the American Chemical Society.
