Read to Succeed’s Annual Reading in the Schools Day is happening Friday, September 20th.

Reading in the Schools Day is an annual event in which Rutherford County elementary schools, private schools, and Murfreesboro City Schools host volunteer readers in their classrooms throughout the day. Over 1,000 classrooms and 20,000 children participate each year. This event magnifies the importance of reading – in school, at home, and even for fun – to students, parents, and community leaders.

Pick your favorite children’s book, dress up in character if you like, and contact the Reading in the Schools Day coordinator for the school of your choice to schedule a time to read to a classroom. A list of coordinators for each participating school is on the Read to Succeed website.
