What do I wear?… What should I sing?… Why didn’t they pick me?!
Auditioning can be an intimidating process. Actors attend many auditions in the course of their career and often leave not knowing what the casting team thought. This workshop gives the aspiring actor an opportunity to present their audition material in an encouraging setting and get feedback to help improve future auditions.
Participants will get an overview of the audition process and insight into the minds of a director and casting committee. They will have the opportunity to audition for a “mock-show,” with the benefit of feedback from the director.
About the Instructor
Deb Hunter is a Florida transplant with a gift for helping young people reach their potential. She started performing professionally at the age of 16 but found her true calling in directing and mentoring young actors. She graduated from Dillard School of the Arts and earned a BA in Broadcasting from the University of South Florida. Debbie is the director of Oak Hill Theatre Camp in Nashville and has been directing stage productions along with children’s and youth choirs for nearly 20 years. She presently works with the Children’s Choirs at Columbia FUMC. Debbie lives in Columbia with her husband, Chip and children, Trent and Miranda. She freelances as a voice actor and other truly odd jobs in Middle Tennessee.
