F.A.C.T. Investigation 18-15841 fatality crash

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at approximately 8:25 pm, Murfreesboro Police Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of W. Clark Blvd/ Middle Tennessee Blvd and Lascassas Hwy. The crash involved a 2012 Ford Mustang and a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle. The investigation revealed the motorcycle was travelling west on Middle Tennessee Blvd while the mustang was travelling east and attempted to turn left onto Lascassas Hwy colliding with the motorcycle.

The drive of the motorcycle was treated on the scene by Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by LifeFlight. He was pronounced deceased at Vanderbilt a short time later.

The driver was identified as Terry E. Elder (DOB 2/17/1957) of Murfreesboro, TN.

No charges have been filed at this time, however the investigation is ongoing.
